Report: Twitter in turmoil over strategy change, Musk drama raises moral issues

A recent report says Twitter employees are currently facing internal turmoil over ongoing Elon Musk acquisition potential, leadership changes, suspension and internal changes.

Bloomberg reports that Twitter employees are facing internal turmoil as the company goes through a major flood. The public statements by the potential new owner of the social media company, Elon Musk, have reportedly caused moral issues within the company, and the management and hiring changes have increased employee stress. As the company focuses primarily on short-term growth, many employees have been transferred to new positions and reassigned to new jobs.

Recently, employees were briefed about their plans to reduce resources for various long-term projects, including new features such as voice spaces, newsletters and communities. The move is part of Twitter’s efforts to focus on more important issues like its user growth and personalization efforts. As a result, employees were laid off and transferred to other projects.

The reorganization was led by Jay Sullivan, who recently took over product leadership when Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal fired his former unit chief.

“We’re making some changes to the structure and roadmap of our consumer products team to focus more on the areas that will have the most positive impact on public comments,” a Twitter spokesperson commented. A source at Bloomberg said the Twitter teams are still working on the edit button feature for the platform.

The constant reshuffle has caused problems for some workers. A worker planning to attend Twitter’s Mexico City office learned that his job offer had been withdrawn just four days before he took the job. “I said [Twitter’s] lawyer “don’t talk to me for the future”. Don’t involve me in anything in the future,” the man said. “I don’t want to hear the word Twitter.”
