Washington Command defense coordinator Jack del Rio deleted his entire Twitter account on Friday, a day after he was fined $100,000 for daring to speak out about his political views.
On June 7, his longtime defensive coach and former player responded to a tweet from the left-wing Brookings Institution about the January 6 hearing on Twitter.
“I want to understand the ‘whole story’ of why the article about rioting, theft, arson and the destruction of personal property was never discussed, but discussed?” It was Del Rio at the time.
Of course, Del Rio spoke of the devastation wrought by the Black Life Matters riots, which swept through every city, destroyed neighborhoods and business districts, caused billions in damage and even several deaths.
Leftists criticized Del Rio for his tweet. Unfortunately for himself, he made matters worse by describing the January 8 riots at the Capitol building as “torture”.

The NFL coach later apologized for the comments, but that wasn’t enough for his boss.
Washington Commanders head coach Ron Rivera fined Del Rio $100,000 and called the January 6 events “domestic terrorism.”

Eventually, Del Rio deleted his Twitter account and declined to make any further public statements about it.
Del Rio is expected to speak with the team on Tuesday, according to ESPN.
“Someone close to the defensive line, Chase Young, said of Del Rio, ‘This is his man,'” ESPN said in a statement on Sunday.
