Instagram slams Donald Trump Jr. for ‘repeatedly posting misinformation’

Facebook-owned Instagram tagged Donald Trump Jr.’s account and accused the conservative leader of “repeatedly posting misinformation”, though Mark Zuckerberg’s platform did not specify what the alleged misinformation was.

Donald Trump’s communications director and Don Jr. Taylor Budovich, co-founder of the recently launched news site with an account to change the president’s grade.

The warning message reads: “This account has repeatedly posted false information that has been verified by independent reviewers or contradicts our Community Guidelines. Want to @mention this account?”

“Someone is telling me that if Adam Schiff, who repeatedly lied on Russian joke tapes, is flagged, this warning will not be issued,” Budovich wrote on Twitter.

The “third-party confirmations” used by Instagram and Facebook are notorious for targeting conservatives, whose members of the network are organizations that directly compete with conservative media such as major news outlets. America today.

During the 2020 election, confirmers have repeatedly made the news of Democrats by adding warning labels and “fact-checks” to true but negative news about Joe Biden.

Even Facebook admits that its verifiers are neutral. In court documents, the platform said “authenticity testers” should be protected from defamation charges brought in connection with their decisions, because those decisions are “protected opinions”.

Facebook Vice President Nick Clegg said in a comment to the European Commission last year that Facebook’s third-party verifiers “have their own agenda” and are “not necessarily objective”. At the time, Facebook claimed that Clegg’s comments did not suggest confirmatory bias.
