Young Americans who say they like to cook and watch fireworks with friends and family on July 4 promised not to celebrate Independence Day “out of respect for indigenous groups” in a video released by Campus Reform.
“I don’t like the claps, the flags, the patriotism and freedom episodes, but I like the fact that there are fireworks,” said Emily Fowler of Campus Reform.
Fowler went to the National Mall to conduct a social experiment to see if he would promise not to celebrate the 4th of July when they needed to respect the “natives.”

“Independence Day is kind of celebrating the founding of our country, right? And when America was founded, unfortunately many indigenous groups left their homes. Do you think it’s polite to celebrate the 4th of July for that?” ‘ asked Fowler.
“Of course not,” replied a young man.
When asked whether it was disrespectful to indigenous groups to celebrate the Fourth Year, another man replied, “In a way, yes.”
“Can you sign a commitment to not celebrate the Fourth Anniversary out of respect for Indigenous groups?” Fowler asked if someone said, “I’m ready to sign this, yes.”
The woman, who admitted that she enjoyed watching fireworks on Independence Day before, signed the promise and said to her friend, “And we will not watch the fireworks,” and her friend replied “OK”.
