A source from the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the upgraded S-300PM2 “Favorite” anti-aircraft systems will protect Siberia.
In an interview with the “Izvestia” newspaper, the source said that, according to the revised schedule, these updated systems will enter active service before the end of 2022.
He added that the upgraded S-300PM2 “Favorite” anti-aircraft missile system will provide protection against hypersonic and high-precision weapons. The Pantsir anti-aircraft missile system will also be used to protect strategic and social facilities.
Experts note that against the background of reports that the United States is developing hypersonic combat systems, the redeployment of air defense systems is especially important at this time.
It should be noted that the S-300PM2 “Favorite” systems are reliable and effective systems capable of destroying all potential enemies currently in possession, including air targets and high-speed targets at the final stage of flight
