The water company Thames Water, which claims to supply water to some 15 million people in the United Kingdom, including the population of London, will restrict various practices with consumers to face the drought that the country is experiencing.
The company did not clarify when the measures will come into force, but considered that they are necessary taking into account the “very high temperatures” and the lack of rain expected for the next few days, according to the BBC.
Thames Water clarifies that restrictions on outdoor uses, such as garden irrigation or car washing, are expected to be limited in “the coming weeks”.
The British authorities have issued a warning to temperatures up to 35 degrees Celsius in parts of southern and central England, as well as parts of Wales.
In July, the UK faced an unprecedented heat wave, with temperatures exceeding 40 degrees for the first time.
