You need to update your Apple devices today due to a vulnerability that hackers are ‘actively exploiting’.

Apple urges iPhone, iPad and Mac users to update their devices as soon as a security breach is detected that could allow hackers to take control of the devices. According to the Silicon Valley giant, the vulnerability was “highly exploited.”

BBC News reports that Apple has discovered a serious vulnerability in its iPhone, iPad and Mac that could allow hackers to remotely control devices. Apple released two security reports on the issue on Wednesday, but the issue has not received widespread attention so far.

Apple explained that the vulnerability meant that a hacker could gain “full administrative access” to iOS and MacOS devices. SocialProof Security CEO Rachel Toback said this would allow hackers to impersonate the owner of the device and run any software for them. Judging by many reports, this issue is not a theoretical attack vector for hackers.

Security experts advise users to update all potentially affected devices, including iPhone6S and later, many iPad models, all iPad Pro models, iPad Air 2, and Mac computers running macOS Monterey.

Here are the steps to make sure your Apple device is not vulnerable:

  • to go > > and check for the latest software updates.
  • Start the download and enter your password, the device will automatically start updating.
  • In macOS, click on the Apple logo in the upper left taskbar, and Select and the system will check for available updates.
  • If there is an update, click and follow the on-screen instructions.
