A Chinese video game company has hired the world’s first robotics CEO who looks like a scene from a science fiction movie.
The female artificial intelligence robot named “Miss Tang Yu” will head the “Organization and Competence Department” in Fujian, the main subsidiary of NetDragon Websoft, a Chinese company that develops and operates online multiplayer games, and also produces mobile applications.
Last week, NetDragon announced the appointment of its new CEO, “Ms. Tang Yu”, making him the first robot in the world to hold a managerial position.
The AI-powered virtual female robot will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the popular Chinese game and metaverse company, which is estimated to be worth around $10 billion.

NetDragon Websoft expects the bot CEO to maintain a variety of key responsibilities as he moves the company forward.
“We believe that AI is the future of corporate governance, and our appointment of Ms. Tang Yu represents our commitment to embrace the use of AI to transform the way we do business,” said Dejian Liu, CEO of NetDragon.
“Tang Yu will simplify the process flow, improve the quality of work tasks, and improve the speed of execution. Tang Yu will also serve as a real-time data center and analytical tool to support rational decision-making in daily operations and enable a more effective risk management system,” a statement explained statement.
NetDragon’s press release continues to highlight the company’s plan to focus its efforts on “scaling our algorithms behind Tang Yu, creating a highly open, interactive and transparent management model while gradually we are gradually moving to a meta-yield-based business community.”
Robots and artificial intelligence are expected to replace those who work in dangerous or non-essential areas.
But with good memory, unlimited working hours, and the ability to process millions of rows of data, AI could replace human CEOs.
