Iranian paratroopers transport US-made combat vehicles

Iran’s 55th Paratrooper Brigade has received American-made humvee vehicles.

This military vehicle and other American-made military equipment arrived in the Islamic Republic with Afghan officials fleeing the Afghan Taliban movement after the fall of the Kabul regime supported by the United States and its allies.

The leadership of the Iranian Paratroopers Brigade decided to use these air-launched vehicles from military transport aircraft.

The Humvee vehicles, first used in the large-scale Eqtedar-1401 exercises conducted by the Iranian army in the center of the country, were downloaded from the Lockheed C-130 Hercules transport aircraft, which Iran bought from the United States in 1979.

It is noteworthy that the Iranian 55th Paratrooper Brigade is among the elite of the Iranian armed forces. He participated in the Iran-Iraq war and helped the Syrians repel the terrorist invasion. Until now, the brigade has small arms, light all-wheel drives and motorcycles.

It is noteworthy that the Humvee vehicle travels at a speed of 117 km per hour on the asphalt road, its length is 4.57 meters and its width is 2.16 meters. Its engine produces 190 horsepower. It is equipped with a four-speed automatic transmission and is designed to transport people to areas far from the frontline.

Its industrial production began in the United States in 1984 in batches. There are armored and unarmoured versions of this vehicle.
