Autumn starts this Friday with forecasts of generally very cloudy skies and temperatures that range between 21 and 31 degrees Celsius, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA).
The minimum temperatures in the continent will oscillate between 12 degrees Celsius (in Guarda) and Bragança and 18 (in Faro) and the maximum between 21 (in Porto) and 31 degrees (in Évora).
The autumnal equinox began at 2:04 a.m. this Friday (Lisbon time), according to the Lisbon Astronomical Observatory.
The IPMA forecasts for this first day of autumn are for periods of generally very cloudy skies, intensified winds from the afternoon on the west coast and in the mountains, fog or morning mist and a small drop in temperature, especially in the maximum .
Autumn will end on December 21, with winter entering at 9:48 p.m.
