At least 26 people were killed and four are missing as Hurricane Julia swept through Central America, leaving a trail of destruction and flooding, local officials said.
Ten people died in El Salvador, two in Honduras and 14 in Guatemala, according to official figures released by police and governments.
The storm weakened when it made landfall in Nicaragua on Sunday and dissipated over Guatemala on Monday.
The US National Hurricane Center said Júlia had completely dissipated in western Guatemala, but added that the rains could still cause flooding in Central America and southern Mexico.
From Guatemala to Panama, authorities reported heavy rains and strong gusts of wind that felled trees, damaged roads, and destroyed homes and bridges.
By the end of 2020, hurricanes Eta and Iota had caused at least 200 deaths and the same number of missing persons, with damage estimated at several million euros.
