The ID.5 surprises in the Portuguese market due to the demand compared to the ID.4

Volkswagen reinforced its range of electric SUVs in our country about a month ago with the presentation of the ID.5, the coupe and sportier version of the ID.4. Despite sharing the platform and mechanics with the ID.4, the model with the most interior space, ID.5 enjoys a more dynamic and “lighter” imageassociated with superior sportsmanship. At the same time, you benefit from the latest version of the Group’s software.3.1, which gives you access to a number of new, more sophisticated driving assistance solutions, reinforcing greater public acceptance.

The ID.5 is available in our country in the normal version, with a single motor and rear-wheel drive (RWD), and in the ID.5 GTX version, with two motors and all-wheel drive, but always with a battery. with a useful capacity of 77 kWh (82 gross kWh). The RWD version is proposed with two trim levels, Pro and Performance respectively, the first offering 174 CV and 235 Nm of force, while the second provides 204 CV and 310 Nm.
The ID.5 GTX exclusively mounts two engines, which add up to 299 hp and a torque of 460 Nm, with the possibility of recharging the battery with a power of up to 135 kW, 10 kW more than with the previous software. To the more dynamic aesthetics, the ID.5 associates better aerodynamics, with a Cx of 0.26, which allows it to announce autonomy of up to 536 km between recharges????????

With a length of 4,599 m and a wheelbase of 2,766 m, the ID.5 is second to the ID.4 in terms of cabin or trunk space under normal conditions, where it announces 549 liters, compared to 543 for its more voluminous “brother”. By simply folding down the rear seat, the ID.4 makes 1,575 liters available, slightly better than the 1,563 liters of the ID.5. This one still has the towing capacity 1200 kg (with brakes and on slopes up to 8%) in versions with a single motor, value that amounts to 1400 kg in the GTX.

with the system voice control optimized, the top screen improved and the plug & charge charging system, the ID.5 is also the only VW model to enjoy the parking assistant plus with memory function and travel assistance with data swarmall courtesy of the new 3.1 software that we cover in detail in the following article.

We drove the VW ID.5 and it has a handful of surprises

The ID.5 is marketed among us for a value that, on average, is higher than that practiced by the ID.4 by about €4,000, the most affordable version being the ID.5 Pro (174 CV and RWD), proposed for €51,461. The ID.5 Performance (204 hp and RWD), faster and with a higher level of equipment, sells for €53,179, while the ID.5 GTX demands €60,985 to change.

Since it began to be marketed in Portugal, the ID.5 has led the demand among the brand’s trams, leaving the bulky ID.4 behind. One of the advantages that customers attribute to this SUV coupé has to do with the fact that it has a stronger technological image, undoubtedly thanks to the possibilities of the latest software. As is the case with most electric vehicles, the incentive system practiced in our country makes more companies (and self-employed) opt for this type of vehicle, due to the possibility of recovering VAT.
