Websites dealing with technology and the Internet are warning about malware spreading through Android device apps, which can be used to steal Facebook account data on those devices.
According to information security experts at Zimperium, “Some of the malware, called Schoolyard Bully, is spreading to some Android device apps dedicated to reading and education, which have been available since 2018 and although the this app on Google Play Store, still official It can be downloaded from offline app stores.
Zimperium reported that “the malware was detected on the devices of 300,000 people in several countries and likely infected a larger number of devices, as it was associated with several applications.”
Experts pointed out that “Schoolyard Bully software belongs to the category of malicious Trojans, where JavaScript software can be inserted into the data of Facebook applications on Android devices, gaining access to the personal data of users such as phone numbers, email addresses and passwords.” and releasing this data to “Internet” hacker servers.
The available information indicates that “the software in question is mostly spread through applications published in Vietnamese and tracked in other applications in 70 countries around the world.”
