In statements to the Lusa news agency, the AMN commander recommended avoiding trips to areas exposed to marine unrest, as well as practicing recreational activities at sea, advising against going to the baths on the first day of the year and calling on “all people not to expose themselves unnecessarily to risk”.

“In any emergency situation, do not enter the water and call 112 immediately,” he said.

Viana do Castelo, Braga and Porto are also under yellow warning between 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and 12:00 a.m. on Sunday and between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, due to “persistent and sometimes intense rains,” according to the IPMA. .
