Apple has announced its next big event at WWDC where it is expected to launch a massive new product!

After nearly eight years of development, Apple is expected to finally launch its much-anticipated mixed reality headset this June.

The tech giant has confirmed that its annual developer conference (WWDC) will be held from June 5 to June 9.

And as a possible reference to the headset, Apple released a blog post confirming the dates with a mysterious promotional image featuring curved colored lines.

Although he didn’t mention the headset in the ad, respected leak writer Mark Gurman says the headset will hit the market in June.

It will reportedly have an operating system called realityOS with 10 cameras and mixed reality versions of Apple apps like FaceTime and Maps.

According to Apple, WWDC will showcase the latest developments in the software suite (iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS).

The five-day event will be available online, but on opening day there will be an opportunity to “celebrate in person in an exclusive experience for developers and students” held at Apple Park, the company’s headquarters in Cupertino.

Susan Prescott, Apple’s Vice President of Worldwide Developer Relations said, “WWDC is one of our favorite times of the year at Apple. It’s an opportunity to connect with talented developers from around the world that makes this community special. WWDC23 will be.” Our biggest and most exciting event ever.” Now we can’t wait to see many of you online and in person at this very special event!”

According to Gorman, Apple’s upcoming mixed reality headset was presented to 100 company seniors last week at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California.

The new headset is expected to cost $3,000 (£2,400) and will overlay digital objects onto a real-world image.

The leaker described it as “the next big platform beyond the iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch.”

“The demonstrations were flamboyant, uplifting and exciting, but many executives had a clear view of the challenges facing Apple as it entered this new market,” Gorman said in a recent news release. .

Apple has been thought to be working on two augmented reality (AR) or virtual reality (VR) products for a long time – the first being a closed-loop headset, similar to the Meta Oculus Quest. Second, a sleeker pair of augmented reality glasses, possibly called Apple Glass, will arrive at a later date.

And like the iPhone and Apple Watch, the headset will follow new updated versions in the coming years.

And while Gorman believes the first version will be “empty” in terms of sales compared to the company’s current devices, future versions are likely to outperform as the product finds its niche. .

Right now, Apple needs to explain to consumers why they want such a device and how it improves.

Gorman added that Apple’s Technology Development Group, the team behind the mixed reality effort, has secretly presented the product to the company’s top decision makers every year since 2018.

But the previous demos paled in comparison to last week’s show, which was “Apple’s biggest show” before the official launch.

And while it is not known exactly when it will be released, it is likely to hit the shelves in late 2023 as Apple did not wait long to launch the products after its announcement.

Apple has long been rumored to be working on an augmented reality wearable. The tech giant has filed for a patent that gives an idea of what it might develop behind closed doors in 2019.

The patent describes the creation of a virtual user interface that can be used with an iPhone-like device and a wireless headset.

These items will allow “at least some of the content within the cameras field of view to be displayed live and optionally generate video outputs.”

Apple took its first big steps into the world of augmented reality in 2017 with the release of ARKit, an augmented reality platform for developers creating multiple apps for iPhone and iPad.
