Crashed a plane by a few clicks. Risks 20 years in prison

The instant fame that many influential people Is youtubers Chasing, exchanging anything for clicks, sometimes leads them to risk their lives or even commit crimes. let them say youtuber Trevor Jacob, who published in 2021 a video related to an episode that he named “I crash my Airplane”, which soon earned the curiosity of many pilots who analyzed the film, as well as the attention of North American entities such as the National Board of La Junta Nacional Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which routinely put an iron fist on skill in anything involving aircraft, regardless of size or number of occupants.

Trevor Jacob took off from the airport in the city of Lompoc in California in November 2021 on a solo trip that would take him to Mammoth Lakes. But 35 minutes after takeoff, the youtuber reported a mechanical failure that would have forced him to leave the plane, the entire episode being recorded by the different GoPros he had on board, some installed in the cabin and others on the wing.

The alleged malfunction occurred as the plane was flying over the Los Padres National Forest, but video posted by the pilot and youtuber Trevor Jacob was quick to expose some bizarre details to experts, from other pilots to NTSB and FAA investigators themselves.

The authorities questioned the youtuber and ended up admitting that he had faked the mechanical failure and caused the small plane to crash. This admission of guilt, motivated by the confrontation with the data collected by the investigators, leads Trevor Jacob to face a sentence of up to 20 years in prison, for having caused the device to fall and, to top it off, for obstructing a federal investigation. This is because in order to recover the images from the cameras on board and at the same time recover the plane, fearing that the accident would be found to be a set-up, the youtuber chartered a helicopter to recover the remains in the woods. To further complicate his life, Trevor Jacob faked the accident when he had already let his pilot’s license expire, which doesn’t help his defense either. See below what other pilots discovered, just by analyzing the video.
