Temperatures drop and this week will be rainy and cold (especially in the north and center)

After a week in which temperatures touched 30 degrees (kind of the beginning of summer), the weather began to change over the weekend and the The forecasts for the week that begins this Monday point to rain and coldmainly in the northern and central regions.

According to the IPMA, continental Portugal will be affected by a northerly flow with a colder air mass, which arrives accompanied by light precipitation throughout the week, north of the Montejunto-Estrela mountain system.

For this Monday, periods of rain are expected throughout the territory but less likely in the southern region and a drop in temperatures, especially maximum temperatures. Temperature values ​​are expected to fluctuate throughout the week, being below, but close to, the values ​​expected for the month of May. Thus, the maximum temperature should vary between 14°C and 25°C in the northern and central interior regions, in the southern region it will vary between 19°C and 28°C and in the coastal areas we will have maximum temperatures between 17°C ° C and 26°C.

Regarding the minimum temperature on the continent, it must be between 4°C and 10°C in the northern and central interior regions, in the southern region it must be between 7°C and 11°C and in the coastal areas the values It should fluctuate between 10°C and 15°C.

As for the Lisbon region, the forecast is for very cloudy skies until the end of the week, with maximum temperatures that will range between 18º and 22ºC and minimum temperatures between 12ºC and 14ºC.

In Porto, the week will be marked by periods of rain, with some open. The maximum temperatures will range between 16ºC and 17ºC and the minimum temperatures will range between 10ºC and 13ºC.

The IPMA also foresees the possibility of snowfall in the highest points of the Serra da Estrela.
