Fire in a truck carrying electric cars cuts off traffic on the A21

A truck carrying electric cars caught fire early Tuesday on the A21 motorway near Malveira, forcing traffic to be cut off in the Mafra-Lisbon direction, a civil protection source said.

According to a source from the Greater Lisbon sub-regional command, there are no reports of injuries.

The alert for the fire in the vehicle transport truck was given at 8:19 a.m.

At 8:50 a.m., according to information available on the website of the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority, 16 officers were on site fighting the flames, supported by five vehicles.

The truck caught fire at kilometre 13.8 of the A21, in an area of ​​the Union of Parishes of Malveira and São Miguel de Alcainça, municipality of Mafra.

The 21 connects the A 8 motorway, next to Venda do Pinheiro, with Ericeira.
