The wind is affecting movement at Madeira International Airport this Monday, with two landings canceled and eight planes diverted to other destinations, according to the ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal website.
According to information provided by ANA, the arrival of Easyjet from Lisbon, which was scheduled to land at 8.50 am, and another Ryanair arrival from Porto, which should have arrived in Madeira at 10.30 am, were cancelled.
Another flight originating in London from Easyjet, at 5:50 p.m., is also listed as cancelled.
HE The wind also prevented eight planes from reaching the airport runway from Madeira from around 10.00 am: a TAP plane from Lisbon, two Easyjet planes from Bristol and London, one AirBaltic plane from Riga, one British Airways plane from London, one Smartwings plane from Lins and one Sunclass plane from Copenhagen.
Between 12:00 and 12:53 only three planes managed to land on the island of Madeira.
