Authorities in the Gaza Strip, controlled by the Islamist group Hamas, said Monday that 43,020 people have already died due to Israel’s military offensive in the Palestinian enclave.

In a statement, the Gaza Ministry of Health indicated that, so far, 43,020 deaths and 101,110 injuries were confirmed, of which 96 deaths and 277 injuries due to five attacks perpetrated by Israeli troops during the last 48 hours.

However, the Ministry stressed that “There are still victims among the rubble and lying in the streets, without ambulances and civil protection teams being able to recover them”.

Gaza authorities claimed that at least 10,000 people had disappeared as part of the Israeli offensive.

The offensive against Gaza was launched after the Hamas attack on Israeli territory on October 7, 2023, which caused around 1,200 deaths and in which 250 people were kidnapped, according to Israeli authorities.

Added to these figures are almost 750 Palestinians killed by Israeli security forces and in attacks carried out by settlers in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
