This Thursday, the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) opened the competition for a new program that will finance the travel and stay of at least 185 Portuguese researchers working abroad or foreigners in Portugal.
With a budget of five million euros, the “FCT Mobility” program aims to support the international mobility of scientists through the payment for travel and monthly allowancesannounced in a statement the FCT, the main entity, dependent on the Government, that finances scientific research in Portugal.
To the program, whose Applications open until December 31, 2025 or until the maximum allocation is reached, Portuguese researchers working in foreign scientific institutions or foreign researchers working in national scientific institutions may apply.
For national researchers, the The period of stay considered for the purposes of granting a subsidy varies between two and eleven consecutive months.. For foreign researchers, it is one to three consecutive months.
The “FCT Mobility” program, which supports the international mobility of doctoral researchers “at any stage of their career, in any area of knowledge and in any region of the world”, is funded entirely with European funds from the Recovery and Resilience Plan Fund.
It is expected to support at least 185 researcher mobilities.
