MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” host, Joe Scarborough, responded to Republican opposition in the first session on Tuesday, Jan.
Scarborough argued that Republicans such as Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) were “trying to interfere” with the hearings with their criticism of the televised hearings. If you “really love America” and “believe in American democracy” then “you want to know what happened on January 6,” he advised.
“You know, you have young children who were shot and bled with Marco, a horrific massacre very similar to what happened… just down the road from Marco to Parkland state. And what does it do? He tweeted about the NBA attacks. No dear? “Scarborough in short.” And now we have a committee investigation on the way, which again, if you really love America, if you believe in American democracy, if you’re a patriot, you want to know. What happened on January 6th? You want to know what’s going on in the White House.”
He continued. Let’s talk about security. Because of guns. Let’s talk about mental health. We cut mental health care. And let’s talk about safe schools while cutting educational funding. Now let’s talk about doors. It’s probably the door’s fault. And now, on January 6, about Donald Trump trying to overthrow American democracy they don’t want to talk and the Republicans say that. Mitch McConnell said. Lindsey Graham said. Kevin McCarthy said. They said it in real time. It’s a distraction even now. Just like I said yesterday, Mika. They think Americans are stupid. They see their supporters as idiots who can easily deviate from the truth. ”
