Chicago columnist compared guns to child pornography – previously denied buying a gun because of a dead battery at home

HOWEVER Chicago Sun Times The columnist, who likened guns to child pornography and advocated more gun laws, had previously refused to buy a gun because the battery died in the house.

On June 8, Neil Steinberg used his personal blog to write about the value of freedom of speech and then argued that free speech has limitations.

To substantiate his claim, he discussed child pornography and wrote that “pure possession” of child pornography is a criminal offense and expanded:

Why does child pornography deserve such an unparalleled level of repression? Let me give you a hint: It’s called “pornography”. Children cannot consent to sexual intercourse with adults and are seriously harmed when forced to do so. Child pornography is harmful to children, so we oppose it by all legal means in our country, even if it violates fundamental freedoms.

He noted that freedom of speech was a “fundamental” constitutional right, but argued that it was limited to pornography laws, and asked why people refused to see Second Amendment restrictions.

Steinberg later testified in court for gun control:

The far-right has this twisted logic on gun laws: The Second Amendment is an absolute sham that even the most plausible restriction on not selling assault rifles to youth is a step towards an all-out confiscation bogeyman. . Ban 50 rounds, they think, and black helicopters are coming.

When they say this over and over, remember that child pornography must be legal under the First Amendment and the harm it does to children is ignored.

On June 23, 2016, WDBO reported that Steinberg went to the Maxons Shooters store in Des Plaines, Illinois. [June 12, 2016,] Attack on Orlando. However, WDBO stated that Steinberg did not pick up the gun because he failed the background check.

WDBO was unaware of Steinberg’s previous criminal record, but said he faces “domestic violence charges in connection with an incident involving his wife.”
