On Thursday, President Joe Biden interviewed Associated Press reporter Josh Boak, who gave him his first press conference in 126 days.
“I admire your objectivity, your writing style. I won’t, I shouldn’t talk about it on tape because you’re going to have a problem,” Biden said in a 30-minute exchange.
“I’m struggling somehow. So that’s okay,” replied Boak.
During the interview, Biden talked about the reporter’s daughter and warned her about what to expect as a teenager.
“Two years ago, if your child was 17…” began a discussion about the impact of the coronavirus on American children.
“I’m not ready for this,” replied Boak.
“Okay buddy get ready. Male or female? Biden continued.
“Girl,” Boak replied.
Biden said, “Well, what am I going to tell you, he’ll do it, he’ll be crazy about you by the age of 13.” “Then wait.
Biden has not interviewed the press since February. 10, when he sat down with NBC’s Lester Holt for an interview that aired during the Super Bowl.
Biden’s last press conference was in February 114 days ago. 10, according to the Republican National Committee’s press monitoring system. https://t.co/1QICr9Mg3o

In an interview with the Associated Press, the president praised his legislative victories for “saving” the economy.
“I have $1.9 trillion. The economy has recovered,” he said, noting that during the coronavirus pandemic, Americans had a hard time feeding their families and paying their rent.
“I mean, people were like, ‘How do you do that?’ If I did that, if another president passed this law and infrastructure law, they would say, “God Almighty. Give me a president who has done this before. At the same time.”
Biden pointed out that the average American isn’t smart enough to realize how much he’s done for them.
“I totally understand why the average voter is confused, disappointed and worried,” he said, arguing that the coronavirus pandemic is affecting people psychologically.
Biden attributed high gas prices to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s war with Ukraine, but said the United States was worth standing up for for Ukraine.
When Boak asked if he understood the global interests Americans face in foreign policy, Biden replied, “No, I don’t.”
“I will tell Americans that I have been in foreign policy my entire career. I am convinced that if we let Russia roll and Putin roll, it will not stop,” he said.
