Matthew Dowd, former chief strategist of the 2004 Bush-Cheney presidential campaign, told MSNBC’s “The ReidOut” on Wednesday that if Republicans win a majority in the US House and Senate, it will be the end of democracy.

He’s the Republican candidate for governor of Pennsylvania, so we can’t consider these people isolated. They’re the United States of America, which has the potential to win the Senate and win the House of Representatives this year. “The first thing the Democratic Party has to do is we are in a different era and they trash their old plans to talk about 22 different politicians and their x, y and z plans. We don’t have a normal time.
