Aura Dim Sum: Eden for dumplings has a new home

We are in Rua das Escolas Gerais, in an Alfama that hides from the confusion. We hear electricity. The 28 turns the corner of the narrow street and on the other side we see the 88. We arrived. We cross, open the door and meet the team that, in an open kitchen, is in charge of the final preparations for the opening day. She looks at us with a strange look, after all, it’s 5 pm and customers won’t start receiving until 6 pm Aura Dim Sum.

The space leaves its laboratory in Bica —where, with a very limited number of tables, it was already receiving clients— to officially settle in Alfama as a restaurant specializing in the art of creating different versions of dim sum, dumplings with dough and Chinese filling. With a stone floor, white and gold panels stand out in the space, fixed to a metallic structure. The tones transmit oriental serenity and a long wooden table, installed in the middle of the counter structure, catches our attention. What a good idea: accompanied by chairs with a back, it solves the discomfort of high backless stools.
