CNN reporter Carl Bernstein said on Thursday that his testimony covering the January 6 House Election Committee hearing showed that former President Donald Trump was “in a state of insanity.”
In a video from the hearing discussing meeting with White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany, former Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Matthews said, “She looked directly at me and shared with me in a quiet tone that the President spoke of peace in this tweet. And it took a bit of persuasion. Ivanka Trump finally refused to include it until she suggested the phrase “keep the peace.”
Bernstein said: “Can we go back to the phrase I used a few weeks ago, which is this angry king? That night we’re going to take a picture of him trying to face the crazy king in his backyard. They don’t know what to do. Their own children and son-in-law did not know what to do with the mad king.
“25. We talk a lot about implementing the change because we have a crazy US President. It’s very dark in here.”
