Japanese tourist Kotaro Takada completed a long journey between the states of Turkey by traveling thousands of kilometers on the back of his Turkish donkey “Susutsubi”.
Takad, 30, started his journey from Merzifon in northern Turkey’s Amasya province in May and ended in the western province of Izmir.
After buying the donkey in Manisa province in western Turkey, he named it “Susutsubi” and then drove south through the villages of Central Anatolia to reach the tourist area of Cappadocia.
In an interview with Anadolu, the Japanese tourist mentioned that the idea of walking around a donkey crystallized in his mind during his visit to Morocco 5 years ago.
Noting that he received different reactions while traveling, he said, “They thought I was an Afghan shepherd, and when they said I was Japanese, they were incredulous.”
Explaining that he particularly likes walking with a donkey, Yılmaz describes it as “sensitive as a human being”.
He said that many citizens opened their homes to him during his travels: “Many Turks helped me, I drank tea, soup and ate watermelon every day because they are hospitable people.”
He explained that he has traveled to 30 countries before and plans to end his world tour in Europe on his donkey in the next few days.
