MSNBC Alternative: Kansas Becomes ‘Electred Earthquake’ – Abortion Could Have ‘Huge Role’ in Midterm Elections

MSNBC political analyst Jonathan Alter told MSNBC Prime Tuesday that it was a “vote swing” for Kansas voters to vote “no” to a vote that would remove pro-abortion language from the state constitution.

Guest Ali Velshi, “What do you think you saw tonight?” said.

Alter said: “I think the big news is the ‘election shake-up’. If a state like Kansas gets this many supporters of abortion rights and wins more than expected, this issue will become a serious issue in the elections. So according to some polls, they should have lost by a small margin. It was a breakthrough. That sends a big signal to the Democrats at the national level.”

“Now, if you look closely at the survey data, the red wave theory has collapsed in the last two weeks. Obviously, it will be a very competitive selection in the fall. No red waves. This is date. But we don’t know what role abortion will play, and tonight has shown that it can play a huge role.”

“Democrats are now considered to have won seats in the Senate and are more likely to remain in the House of Representatives,” Alter said.
