US to supply antipersonnel mines to Ukraine, government official says
The United States will supply Ukraine with antipersonnel mines to strengthen the country’s defense against the invasion launched by Russia, a US government official said.
Washington will send “non-persistent antipersonnel mines” to kyiv, equipped with a self-destruct or self-deactivation device, the same unnamed source told the France-Presse news agency on Tuesday night.
The decision came hours after Pentagon sources said the United States will send new weapons worth $275 million (€260 million) to Ukraine before Donald Trump takes over the US presidency on January 20. 2025.
