Scarborough in FBI Mar-a-Lago raid: ‘His house was not raided – not a single door was kicked’

MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough on Tuesday reacted to the FBI raid on former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home.

“Dark times for our country as my beautiful home, Mar-A-Lago, in Palm Beach, Florida, is now under siege, occupied by a large group of FBI agents,” Trump said in a statement. “This has never happened to a US President before.”

“One thing we don’t have to wait to come to a decision is whether Donald Trump’s statement yesterday was true. It’s just full of lies. Don’t worry,” said Scarborough. “This is not a raid on his house. Not a single door was broken. The FBI even informed the Secret Service, saying, “Hey, we’re coming and we’ll call.” This is a legitimate search. I know Donald Trump doesn’t care about the rule of law… He doesn’t understand the Constitution or constitutional rules, but the Constitution requires two branches to do that and that’s why you have to go to the Department of Justice, which is the executive branch. Have a judge sign an order to try and get back to the judiciary and these confidential documents. ”

“And my God, the irony, it’s so bold, the irony,” he continued. “Republicans go around, many of them went to jail, of course, Republicans run around saying ‘Lock him up’ whenever they have emails from Hillary Clinton that they think might be classified. Here’s Donald Trump with boxes of documents from the White House after the defeat at Mar-a-Lago. You got the Justice Department to talk to him and try to get those papers back and eventually decide they had no choice but to go there.”
