A spokesperson for the Norwegian group of Tesla owners told RT on Thursday that the one-day hunger strike organized by the group was aimed at getting the attention of Elon Musk.
They made it clear that only he could resolve a long list of complaints.
Earlind Morch told RT in an interview, “We don’t think Elon would agree if he knew about our problems. We think it is our responsibility to raise his awareness and we believe the hunger strike will be effective.” “
“I hope he will somehow contact us and maybe solve our problems because we think he is the only one who can do it. Elon Musk, please help us,” Morsch said.
Morsch, 27, spoke on behalf of a group of Tesla owners who staged hunger strikes on Saturday and Sunday. Although Norway has the most Tesla cars per capita in the world, according to their website, the company’s customer service doesn’t seem to be keeping up with the issues.
Morsch said one of the owners got the warning “constantly for several days” and eventually had to disable it completely. Another had to travel from Berlin to Oslo with the windows open in the winter and developed pneumonia as a result.
The first four complaints listed on the site are a refusal to work in cold or hot weather, door handles not working in cold weather, and “severe creaking noises” while driving.
Current lights, doors, air conditioners, and computers sometimes don’t work properly, cars struggle to charge, and newer models have corrosion problems and poor paint quality.
Despite all this, the Norwegian owners of Tesla are attached to their cars and Musk, whom they see as more than a CEO. Before the hunger strike began, they arranged their car to spell out the word “help” in an Oslo parking lot. Announcing the start of the strike, Morsch said the owners would “raise their hands to the sky and I hope that someone looking at us with satellites hears our prayers.”
“I still want Tesla to be number one. I want Tesla to listen when customers complain and hear our cries for help,” Morsch told RT.
It is not yet clear whether Musk, who will attend an energy conference in Oslo on Monday, noticed the action.
