While President Joe Biden was blamed for the poor optics of his divisive prime-time speech on Thursday, viral footage surfaced showing CNN replacing the “blood-red” backlighting with a lighter shade of pink as he spoke.
During Biden’s speech, observers described the “MAGA Republicans” as a threat to the country and democracy, while noting the optics were deafening, with the US Marines in the background, using authoritative visuals and horrific lighting.

Mediate, a media watchdog, posted side-by-side footage of other major news networks – at the same moment of the conversation – keeping a deep red background, while CNN gradually switched to a brighter color.
A CNN spokesperson said the change in the news was due to a technical glitch with CBS News. New York Post reported.
But conservative social media users accused the leftist network of trying to soften Biden’s image, as the speech received poor reviews.

Even CNN reporter Brianna Keilar criticized the optics of Biden’s speech on his decision to put the US Marines in the background.
“Whatever you think of this speech, the military must be apolitical,” Keilar said. tweeted out. “Placing uniformed Marines behind President Biden for a political speech believes that.”

If it is confirmed during CNN’s speech that Biden has decided to lower his image a bit, it will raise questions about his partisan stance, whether he takes the new CNN CEO and Chairman Chris Licht’s claims about reversing the network’s direction from the left seriously.
Despite heavy criticism of his speech on Thursday, Biden doubled down on his rhetoric by posting a statement on his social media Sunday morning, according to Breitbart News:
MAGA’s agenda represents the extremism that threatens the foundations of our Republic. It does not respect our constitution. He does not believe in the rule of law. And the will of the people is not recognized.
Biden’s latest rhetoric is in stark contrast to his January 2021 speech, in which he said he wanted to be unifying and “restore the spirit” of the country. However, in this speech, it was noted that he demonizes some Americans with different political views.
