Former US President Donald Trump has responded to the news that the planned purchase of Twitter by billionaire Ilan Musk has been temporarily suspended.
Trump said through his account on the social network “Truth” that he believes that Mask will not go ahead with buying Twitter.
“It is inevitable that Ilan will buy the Twitter mask at this high price, especially since he realized that this is a company that relies heavily on fake accounts,” he wrote in a post on Friday.
Trump continued that “if it were not for the separation costs,” Elon Musk would have canceled the pre-sale long ago. “
Musk and Twitter have signed a $ 1 billion separation deal that will be paid by Tesla’s CEO if he leaves the deal.
Ilan Mask has temporarily suspended his Twitter purchase deal, citing details that support statistics showing that fake and fake accounts actually make up less than 5 percent of subscribers.
And Ilan Musk tweeted Friday that he plans to conduct a survey to determine the number of fake Twitter users before buying a social networking platform.
Shares of Twitter fell 11 percent before launching and 20 percent at the beginning of trading after Mask tweeted, while shares of Tesla rose 4.9 percent.
On April 25, Reuters reported that Twitter had agreed to a deal that would allow Ilan Mask to buy the billionaire for $ 44 billion.
