BERLIN (AP)-German police said they have arrested a suspect in connection with an attack on a high school in the northern city of Bremerhaven on Thursday morning, in which one person was injured.
Police said the incident occurred at Lloyd High School in the city centre.
A police spokesperson initially confirmed that it was a shooting, but later changed that information only to say that the culprit was armed.
“A man with a gun has been detained and is in police custody,” police said in a statement.
“The weapon used by the suspect is subject to police investigation,” the police said. “We can’t confirm there is a second suspect at this time.”
The police stated that the injured person was taken to the hospital, not a student, and added that the investigation into the incident continues.
