The company’s statement notes that “On May 17, the Finnish company Gasum announced the commencement of arbitration proceedings in relation to the gas supply contract with Gazprom Export, and the company also stated that it did not intend to pay in rubles in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated 31 March 2022 No. 172, and according to the scheme proposed by Gazprom Export LLC.

“As of the end of the business day on May 20 (the payment deadline set in the contract), Gazprom Export has not received payment from Gazum for gas supplies to Nissan,” the company said in a statement.

And the company added: “In this regard, Gazprom Export notified Gazum of the suspension of gas supplies from May 21, 2022 until payment is made in the manner prescribed by the decree.”
