A “crime of honor” took the lives of two Spanish sisters!

Two Pakistani-born Spanish sisters, 24-year-old Anisa Abbas and 21-year-old Oruj Abbas, did not realize that their trip to their hometown would be their last and that the end would be in the hands of their husbands.

Anisa and Oruj were deceived by being asked to travel to the eastern city of Gujarat before the couple shot them in a new crime on the pretext of “honor” the day after their arrival on Friday. According to the investigating official

According to the British newspaper The Guardian, the two sisters were pressured by the family to help the couple (cousins) with whom they were forced to marry last year to obtain a visa to travel to Europe.

The application was rejected by Anisa and Aroug, who wanted to divorce, to allow remarriage in Spain, and they were sentenced to death.

And Pakistani authorities arrested six men in connection with the crime, including the couple, their uncle, their brother and two other men.

Hundreds of women in Pakistan are killed every year by family members in so-called “honor” crimes for violating the conservative norms governing women-men relationships, and these crimes also affect people with dual citizenship.

More than 470 “honor” crimes were reported in Pakistan last year, according to the AIHRC.

Earlier this year, the assassination of Qandil Baluch, known as “Pakistani Kim Kardashian” by his brother, sparked national outrage. His brother was sentenced to life in prison, then acquitted in February after his parents pardoned him.
