As part of the investigation and search procedures conducted in Azovstal and in the area around the factory, the Russian Investigative Committee found Nazi chemicals, foreign weapons, ammunition, explosives and signals.
According to the “Novosti Agency”, citing sources, during the inspection, a box containing improvised explosive devices of varying severity was found in areas used by militants in Azovstal, before it was cleared of them, and they surrendered.
Sources revealed that unknown chemicals belonging to the militant extremists were also found in Azovstal, adding, “A syringe containing a white, opaque substance of unknown origin was found in the bomb shelter.”
During the searches, investigators also found ammunition, weapons, food supplies, smartphones, laptops, and faulty flash cards made abroad.
Nazi clothing was also found.
The Russian Ministry of Defense had earlier said that “The territory of the Azovstal plant in Mariupol has been completely liberated, and the underground facilities of the project, where the Ukrainian Nazis are hiding, are under the full control of the Armed Forces of Russia.
He said the total number of those from the extremist Ukraine (Azov) Brigade and Ukrainian army who surrendered to Russian forces and laid down their weapons was 2,439.
