Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian promised on Friday an “immediate” response to any “political” action by the West at the next meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

The IAEA had already denounced, in a recent report, the absence of “satisfactory answers” from Tehran on the presence of nuclear material in three undeclared locations in the country.
This process has worried the international community for several months and adds to the deadlock in the negotiations that began more than a year ago to try to save the agreement that seeks to prevent the Islamic Republic from manufacturing the atomic bomba purpose denied by Tehran.
The Iranian foreign minister described the decision of the United States and three European countries as “an act contrary to diplomatic practice, hasty and not very constructive”, which “will make the negotiation process more difficult and complicated”.
Amir-Abdolahian also described the trip to Israel by the director general of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, as “contrary to the principle of neutrality” of the UN organization.
Arriving in Israel on Thursday night for a quick visit, Grossi met Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett this morning before leaving immediately for Vienna.
At that meeting, Bennett warned that his country “reserves the right of self-defense and action against Iran to stop its nuclear program,” according to a press release from his office.
