Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky declared that Western sanctions against Russia had no effect on Russia’s stance and criticized Kiev’s partners for calling for a ceasefire without specific conditions.
This came in an interview with Zelensky via videoconference of the British newspaper “Financial Times”, in which he criticized the unconditional “stop Russian offensive” for a ceasefire. “Some countries support Ukraine on the one hand, but are doing everything they can to mitigate sanctions so that their business is not affected,” Zelensky said.
While some Western countries are imposing new sanctions on Russia because of Russia’s operation against Ukraine, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the sanctions in the West are extremely dangerous, but Russia has prepared for them in advance.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Western companies refused to deal with Russia under enormous pressure, but that Russia would solve all the economic problems the West had created for itself.
