Israeli media have revealed the secret of targeting Damascus airport in Syria, claiming that “the recent attack succeeded in preventing a threat that harms Israel.”
According to Israel Channel 12, the aim of the attack on the airport, which is the second attack in the last two weeks, was to shorten the runways of the airport.

The channel claimed that the targeting of the two gangs was aimed at thwarting Iran’s efforts to smuggle precision systems into Hezbollah in Lebanon, including equipment used to convert conventional missiles into high-precision missiles.
He added that Tel Aviv was unable to identify exactly what was in the luggage of passengers arriving at Damascus airport on civilian flights, which would send a message of non-acceptance.
He also noted that the Israeli military is based on the premise that the equipment and techniques used to produce high-precision missiles have already reached Hezbollah through the airport.
The Syrian Ministry of Transportation announced the disruption of the runways of Damascus International Airport and the suspension of incoming and outgoing flights due to the bombing of the Zionist regime air force.
“The date of flights through Damascus International Airport will be announced as soon as the equipment is repaired to ensure the safety and security of the operational movement,” he said in a statement posted on his website.
It is worth noting that Israel launched an airstrike south of the Syrian capital Damascus on Friday morning.
Israel is attacking military sites that it says belong to pro-Iranian groups in several areas in Syria.
