Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz called for a US-led regional coalition against Iran, while an Iranian military commander said the current situation was not ready for war.
At the awards ceremony for Israeli soldiers, Gantz said Iran was shutting down the cameras of its nuclear sites, expanding its offensive operations in the region, rejecting attempts to reach a nuclear deal with it, and continuing its rebellious actions.
“There is a need for a joint US-led force against Iran, and he noted the deep partnership and relationship with our American partners and allies,” he said in a statement issued ahead of US President Joe Biden’s visit to the region. “Also the relations we have established and developed with the countries of the region in recent years.”
“The Gulf states have become closer to Israel as part of the US-sponsored diplomatic campaign in 2020, as well as Egypt and Jordan,” Gantz was quoted as saying by Reuters, referring to Israel’s security relations with the Gulf states. “Efforts are being made to expand this cooperation.”
And Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said last week that Tel Aviv’s policy toward Tehran had changed over the past year.
“We are moving against the head, not just with weapons, as we have done in previous years,” Bennett told a meeting of the Israeli parliament’s Foreign Relations and Security Committee after using the term “octopus” against Iran.
Meanwhile, Brigadier General Ali Fadavi, the deputy commander-in-chief of the Revolutionary Guards, said that the current situation was not ready to start a war: “Those who refer to him as an enemy” do not dare to insult Iran. “
Referring to the economic war that Iran is facing, Fadavi said in a statement: “The lack of real conditions for war does not mean the absence of other wars and stressed the need to win it.”
The tone of intimidation between Israel and Iran has recently intensified as Israeli Army Chief of Staff Aviv Kohawi said the most serious threat facing the Israeli military is the potential nuclear threat from Iran, with Saeed Khatibzad as spokesman. The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in response to the question that Israel should be aware that Tehran will not tolerate its security in the region with any side.
For his part, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, for his part, said that the Palestinian cause would remain the number one issue in the Islamic world.
In a press conference with his Pakistani counterpart, Balawal Bhutto Zardari, Abdullahian called on the Muslim nation to take a united stand against Israel’s hostile actions.
