Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian believes that “the presence of the usurping Jerusalem entity in the region is causing insecurity and instability and is the cause of terrorism and sabotage throughout the region,” according to him being quoted by the Iranian News Agency (IRNA) as saying.
During a telephone conversation with UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed, he noted the priority of neighbors in Iran’s foreign policy, stressed the increase in bilateral meetings and consultations between the officials of the two countries, considering them the basis for development and expansion of relations between the two countries.
Abdollahian emphasized that “The Islamic Republic of Iran wants to maintain security and progress for its neighbors and the region and sees that the entry and presence of foreigners is detrimental to the security of the region.”
For his part, the UAE Foreign Minister referred to the common interests of the two countries in developing bilateral relations, welcoming regular consultations between Iranian and Emirates officials.
He stressed that “the UAE will not allow any acts of sabotage from its territory against neighboring countries and always consider the security of its neighbors,” according to what the official agency quoted.
The parties stressed the need to continue contacts and consultations between the two countries and discussed the latest status of negotiations on lifting the embargo on Iran in Vienna. The Iranian Foreign Minister also invited his Emirati counterpart to visit Tehran.
