Russian President Vladimir Putin has been accused by Western governments and some of his opponents of having a hidden fortune that he accesses through a network of Russian friends and oligarchs. This Monday, an investigation published in the British newspaper The Guardian reveals that a series of assets, which will be around 4,500 million dollars and have no apparent relationship with each other, are finally linked through a common email domain, LLCInvest.ru .
From a multi-year investigation by the OCCRP, the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project and the Russian website Meduza, published exclusively by the aforementioned British newspaper, it is known that palaces, yachts and vineyards that were once linked to Putin belong to corporations, charities and oligarchs, all linked through this informal network. EITHER the email domain would not be of use to the publicsays The Guardian, but it was from this clue that journalists managed to discover the complex plot.
