Kirill Strimosov, deputy head of the separatist Civil Military Administration of Ukraine for the Kherson region, said that a public referendum on joining the region to Russia is scheduled for next autumn.

In a statement to the Russian news agency Novosti, he explained: “We are preparing for a referendum. Organizational issues have been resolved. After the referendum, we will become a full-fledged administrative unit within Russia. citizenship rights in the great country of Russia. Crimea”.

The authorities indicated that in the region, in connection with the preparations for the referendum, work is being carried out in the region aimed at regulating economic and social well-being, the work of factories and the banking system has begun, the payment of wages, pensions and social services in rubles has begun.

During the course of a special military operation in Ukraine, Russian forces established their control over the Kherson region and part of the Zaporozhye region near the Sea of ​​Azov in the south of the country. Civilian military administrations were established in these two regions, the use of the Russian ruble began, and the broadcasting of Russian television and radio channels began. Two regions have declared their intention to join Russia.
