Russian President Vladimir Putin plans to visit the two Soviet republics this week, his first known trip abroad since launching a Russian military operation in Ukraine in late February.
Russian state television reported that Putin would travel to Tajikistan and Turkmenistan and then hold talks with Indonesian President Joko Widodo in Moscow.
