At a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahyan confirmed Iran’s support for the opening of embassies in Saudi Arabia.

Abdollahian also reaffirmed “Iran’s support for the continuation of the truce in Yemen and the need to end the siege of the country,” stressing that “Iran believes that the solution to the region’s problems comes from within.

Abdollahyan praised Iraq’s efforts to promote dialogue and take a constructive role in regional relations and dialogue between Iran and Saudi Arabia.

On the other hand, Amir Abdollahyan pointed to the similarities between Iran and Egypt, stating that “the strengthening of bilateral relations between Tehran and Cairo is in the interests of the region and the Islamic world.”

It is noteworthy that the Iraqi authorities have so far sponsored 5 rounds of talks between Iran and Saudi Arabia, and Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi visited Tehran, meeting with Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi after his visit to Riyadh.
