US stops refueling ship from Russia!

According to informed sources, US officials stopped a ship traveling from Russia to Louisiana carrying a consignment of fuel products.

The tanker, called Daytona, is owned by TMS Tankers Ltd. It was leased by Vitol, a Swiss-based commodity trading company.

The data show that the ship sailed from the Russian Taman Peninsula in the Black Sea in early June, carrying fuel oil and gas, and was scheduled to arrive in New Orleans on Sunday.

People who are familiar with the subject and the shipping information have been prevented from unloading the cargo, according to the Wall Street Journal.

For their part, a person and a US Coast Guard official said the matter was being inspected by US Customs and Border Protection.

According to Kpler, a platform that tracks the flow of goods, shipments on the Daytona ship are classified as of Russian origin.

It is worth noting that the United States imposed sanctions on Russian oil last March and banned the import of crude oil, oil fuels, liquefied natural gas and coal from Ukraine after a military operation.

The ban does not apply to crude and refined products passing through Russia, such as Kazakhstan oil, which uses its neighboring pipeline network to reach ports.

The terminal on the Taman Peninsula carries petroleum products from Russia and Kazakhstan. In the case of furnace oil and vacuum gas oil, about 25 percent of the products sent from the terminal come from Kazakhstan and the rest from Russia, according to a regional shipping company. .
