Instant messaging app WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will hide a user’s status from others and may get rid of annoying messages.
(WABetaInfo), which tracks the latest WhatsApp news, said the app is testing a feature to hide a user’s “online now” or (online) status in English.
This site announced that this new feature will soon be available in the application and will be available to users of phones with Android and iOS systems and even to users of the application on computers.
This development comes after users in previous years asked to be allowed to hide their status in the app, as the “online now” mode caused some people to be bombarded with annoying messages, especially in the night.
The site stated that this is one of the main reasons why users have asked WhatsApp to introduce this new feature, in addition to some feeling that they are being stalked by certain people.
And the site published a “screenshot” showing the new service in the “Privacy” menu in the settings, through which a user’s status can be controlled, with the ability to determine who can see the status as anyone. or view the list of phones stored in it. Phone.
Currently, users can control “last seen” information, that is, prevent seeing the last help the user was active in the app.
And last year, WhatsApp started hiding “last seen” automatically from people the user didn’t chat with to prevent any third party like the app from accessing this information.
And the website (WABetaInfo) monitored the development of the new service on the beta version of “WhatsApp” for “iOS” phones, i.e., “iPhone” phones.
He noted that he does not know when exactly this new feature will come into service.
