The unions of the Ryanair airline called this month another 12 days of strike in Spain for cabin crew, after six days of stoppage that ended this Saturday.
In a statement released this Saturday, the USO and Sitcpla unions announced strikes for July 12, 13, 14, 15, 18, 19, 20, 21, 25, 26, 27 and 28. in the ten Spanish airports where Ryanair operates — Madrid, Malaga, Seville, Alicante, Valencia, Barcelona, Girona, Santiago de Compostela, Ibiza and Palma de Mallorca.
In statements to the media, the general secretary of the USO at Ryanair, Lidia Arasanz, assured that the unions “were forced” to call new days of strike after the Six days of strike that generated 200 flight cancellations and nearly a thousand delayed flights across the country.
Likewise, he criticized that the company has not listened to the workers and “prefers to leave thousands of passengers on the ground than sit down to negotiate an agreement under Spanish law.”
The 12 new days of strike will have, like the previous ones, a duration of 24 hours and all Ryanair workers in Spain are called.
Given the lack of progress, the unions called a strike and the company did not respect the already high minimum services authorized by the government.
Until 1:00 p.m., 10 flights have been canceled and there have been 123 delays in this sixth day of strike by Ryanair cabin crew at the airline’s 10 bases in Spain.
This day of strike at Ryanair coincides with the second of a total of nine of the cabin crew of the British low-cost company easyJet, who were called by the USO union for days 1, 2, 3, 15, 16, 17 July 29, 30 and 31 at Malaga, El Prat and Palma de Mallorca airports.
Due to the easyJet strike, there was this Saturday five cancellations and 52 flights delayed until 1:00 p.m..
